For anyone thinking of taking a pass on this year's election, meet Blanche Kelly, who has voted in every presidential election for the past 64 years. "My mother always told me how the women's suffrage movement started in 1848, and it wasn't until 1920 that Congress passed an amendment giving them the right to vote," said Kelly, 87, of Palos Hills.

Bulls start quickly, then fizzle in dropping to 0-3
After sluggish starts in each of the first two exhibition games, the Bulls looked like they were ready to work from the opening tip Tuesday night at the United Center. But the team's best first quarter -- in which they built a 19-point lead -- fizzled quickly, and the Bulls dropped to 0-3 in the preseason with a 96-86 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Hawks are Eager to earn first victory

After watching the Blackhawks lose their first three games while he served a suspension for a preseason altercation, left winger Ben Eager can't wait to return tonight against the Phoenix Coyotes (2-0) at the United Center.

Play dough vs. Play-Doh
Bubba received his first yellow tubs of Play-Doh for his birthday in June. The store-bought Play-Doh has held up well, but the colors have begun to meld. So I went online last week, looking for do-it-yourself play dough recipes. In the end, I felt very Play-Dumb.
